about
This was recorded in Craigs Garage in 2008/9 using the infamous 'gun mic'. We fetched it out of the vaults, dusted it off and rebuilt it at Phoenix Lodge.
Not many people will have heard this song, but it's probably the one we came back to most.
lyrics
Can I see what you see, let me be
The side you have shown, love has grown
And can I fly, up so high, let me know
And can I fly, she say yes, but you say no
Can I run? Can I run, baby here I come
And I was in the ground and she was in the sky, I wonder why
And I was in the ground and she was in the sky, I wonder why
I wonder why...
Can I live, what you give, let me be
And I when I leave, you can breathe but baby's on her knees
And you said, said to me, I told you so
Can I go, go back home, oh won't you let me know
Can I run? Can I run, baby here I come
And I was in the ground and she was in the sky, I wonder why
And I was in the ground and she was in the sky, I wonder why
I wonder why...
1 by 1 baby here I come, 1 by 1 baby here I come
2 by 2 baby's looking at you, 2 by 2 baby's looking at you
3 by 3 baby's looking at me, 3 by 3 baby's looking at me
4 by 4 she's been wanting it more, 4 by 4 she's been wanting it more
And I was in the ground and she was in the sky, I wonder why?
I know, sometimes it's just to get by, sleep safe my child
Sleep safe my child...
